Hyderabad, June 19, 2006

Friendly fight between candidates of the Congress and CPI seems inevitable in the local body elections in Visakhapatnam and Medak. This has become inevitable as both the parties are not able to come to a conclusion for fielding their candidates in the respective regions.

The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President K Keshavarao said that the Congress party candidates will be contesting in 1097 ZPTCs in the upcoming elections. He said that the party was able to come to a satisfactory adjustments with the talks it has conducted over the past few days with the TRS and CPI.

Kesavarao has assigned the task of ensuring of the withdrawal of nominations by the party candidates who are not selected to the District Congress Committees (DCC). The final list of candidates would be released on June 21.
