To add 60 million mobile connections in three years time
Hyderabad, June 19, 2006Indian telecommunication major Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) CMD AK Sinha said that plans are on to launch triple play services later during the year. Chennai and Pune would get the services in about two months time while other cities follow suite later. Triple services allows subscribers to get basic telephony service, Broadband Internet and Video services on demand on a single wire.
BSNL has set a target of 60 million mobile phone connections nation-wide in the next three years time. BSNL, a late started in providing mobile telephony services in India, has become the #7 telecommunication company globally.
Installing and upgradation of telecommunication infrastructure is on cards to keep up with the ambitious plan. Wireless fidelity will soon become available in Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam. The services will be available about 20 locations in Hyderabad and 3 in Visakhapatnam soon.
