CPI demands special package

Special package for tribals who are affected with Polavaram project

Hyderabad, July 30, 2006

The State Council of Communist Party of India (CPI) has demanded on Saturday a special relief and rehabilitation package (RRP) for tribals who are likely to be affected on account the execution of Polavaram project.

A delegation comprising State Secretary K.Narayana and members of the Central Empowered Committee made this demand. They said that in view of the benefits involved in the execution of the project, the party asked to clear the project subject to the implementation of the RRP.
