Chief Minister holds review meeting
Hyderabad, July 26, 2006At a review meeting conducted by the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy with the officials of the Commercial Tax Department, it has been decided to collect 3 percent Central Sales Tax (CST) as against the present 4 per cent. The State Government has taken this decision which will be effective from October 1. This decision was taken following an impressive performance registered in revenue during the first quarter of the current year.
Commercial Taxes Minister Konathala Ramakrishna said that the annual estimated revenue from CST was Rs. 1200 crore. The State Government will ask the Centre to reimburse the loss resulting from the reduction in the form of transfer of some services to the State.
