Chief Minister holds teleconference
Hyderabad, July 23, 2006The Chief Minister Dr.YS Rajasekhara Reddy, in a teleconference with the officials of agriculture issued guide lines for effective implementation of contingency plan to provide relief to farmers. According to reliable sources, the State Administration has despatched 43,000 quintals of seed for pulses and oilseed crops for the benefit of the farmers. Twenty three teams of senior agricultural officers and scientists will visit the worst hit revenue divisions in the district on July 24 and 25.
The Chief Minister suggested farm advisories on management of pest and diseases likely to strike due to prolonged dry spells, such as Wooly Aphid on sugarcane, sucking pests in cotton, Necrosis in sunflower etc.,
He asked the officials for timely availability of inputs and activating helplines, control rooms of Revenue Department and holding of special district consultative committees for additional credit in areas where crops had withered and re-sowing in the event of rain fall.
