Cloud seeding from August 15

CM reviews seasonal conditions in state

Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy while reviewing the seasonal conditions in the State announced that the State Government has resolved to take up cloud seeding operations this year in order to offset the adverse impact of the dry spell on Agriculture which will begin on August 15. The cloud seeding project would cost Rs.17 crores.

The Government has decided to take up the operations jointly with Karnataka and Maharashtra and involvement of Centre The Chief Minister has written to the Prime Minister proposing joint cloud seeding with JNTU, Hyderabad serving as the nodal agency.
