Hyderabad, July 18, 2006

The members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)State unit staged a dharna on Tuesday before the office of Commissioner, Civil Supplies protesting against the raising prices of the essential commodities. The senior leaders of the BJP Bandaru Dattatreya, K.Laxman, G.Kishan Reddy and others demanded that the essential commodities should be supplied to ration cardholders.

The BJP leaders recalled how the Government had reduced the quantity of kerosene issued on white cards from 18 litres a month to 10 litres and demanded to restore. They criticized that since the distribution of ration cards were reduced to mere pieces of paper as people are not getting essential commodities.
