Digital TV that uses internet Protocol
Hyderabad, July 16, 2006After Mumbai serial train blasts, the Hyderabad City Police along with the Railway authorities have decided to install Internet Protocol Televisions (IPTVs) at Nampally and Secunderabad railway stations. The Railway authorities have promised to provide Rs.50 lakhs for this purpose.
The City Police Commissioner AK Mohanty had discussions with the Director of AP Aksh Broadband Limited, a joint venture company with the State Government will provide the IPTVs and the required software for it. The IPTVs will be installed on platforms 1,2 and 3 at the two railway stations within a month and will be extended to the remaining platforms according available sources.
It is learnt that the City Police along is planning to take nearly 2000 units for installing it at the railway and bus stations and sensitive places across the twin cities. An IPTV was set up near the Mahankali temple at Secunderabad and the entire Bonalu festival proceedings could be watched on the personal computer of the commissioner.
