Lack of quorum for these elections
Hyderabad, July 10, 2006
The State Election Commission (SEC) on Monday night issued fresh notification for election of Zilla Parishad Chiefs and Vice-chairpersons besides co-opted members in three districts on July 15.
Speaking to the reporters, the SEC Commissioner AVS Reddy said that after the notification, four days would be given for the special ZP meetings. SEC Secretary (Legal) KSN Murthy said the co-option members had to be elected first followed by the chairperson and the vice-chairperson.
The process had to be repeated till the election was completed. He clarified that the newly elected ZP chairpersons would assume charge on July 23, a day after the term of the outgoing body expires.
