Anantapur, January 7, 2006Unable to stand the humiliation, a girl student was allegedly subjected to by her class teacher before the entire class over her poor performance, committed suicide by torching herself in the district on Saturday. According to the police and family members of the deceased, the girl was studying in St.Mary's High School in Gooty.
Humiliation before the classmates had reportedly thrown Shireen into depression on Friday night. In a fit of emotion, she doused herself with kerosene available in the kitchen and torched while she was getting ready to got school on Saturday morning. School principal Laura refused to comment on the alleged suicide of her pupil when the press contacted her.
