Vijayanagaram, January 6, 2006

Chairman of Sri Visakha Grameena Bank, A Ananta Krishna has said that amalgamation of rural banks attached to the State Bank of India is in the offing. Five rural banks might be brought under one umbrella after April 1 this year he said at a press conference on Friday.

He said that though the number of branches under each bank and staff would remain unchanged, the bank headquarters would be shifted to a central place.
