Cotton worth Rs. 2 Crores burnt to ashes
Anantapur, January 6, 2006
In a major fire accident in a spinning mill at Kirikera village near Hindupur, raw materials (cotton) worth about Rs. 2 crores was reduced to ashes on Friday evening and however no human loss was reported. Mill's own fire fighting arrangement and fire extinguishers rushed from Hindupur were still tying to douse the fire.
It is suspected that the accident was due to short circuit. The General Manager of the mill Dinakar told press persons that nearly 420 tonnes was cotton was reduced to ashes.
