Apache Footwear signs MoU
Hyderabad, January 6, 2006A day ahead of the inaugural of Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas, the ball was set rolling when an MoU was signed between Apache Footwear, an authorized manufacturer of Adidas brand of shoes and the State Government for a Rs.500 crore manufacturing plant at Nellore. Over a period of four years, when the unit will be fully established, the original equipment manufacturer of Adidas range of foot wear, clothing and sports apparel is expected to provide employment to more than 30,000 persons said the Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs, Mr. Oscar Fernandes, Major Industries Minister, J.Geetha Reddy and other top officers were present on the occasion. The Apache Footwear delegation comprising General Manager Steve Chen and six senior executives was led by Chairman Johnson Tsai. The estimated production is over a million pairs of shoes and provided time schedules are kept in clearances and project execution.
