Hyderabad, January 5, 2006

Two days ahead of the large VIP gathering expected for the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas meeting beginning on January 7 and the AICC plenary two weeks later, Director of Intelligence Bureau ESL Narasimham reviewed the security arrangements for the two mega events with the Home Minister, K.Jana Reddy. Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh and the Chief Ministers from various States will attend both these meetings, while AICC president Sonia Gandhi will preside over the AICC plenary.

After a half hour meeting with the Chief, the Home Minister told to the reporters that tight security would be provided to each dignitary depending on the category in which they were placed. Additional forces were being taken from the Centre for both the occasions. The Home Minister said that they had taken all necessary precautions in the light of the Bangalore Incident to prevent any untoward incidents.
