Hyderabad, January 3, 2006

An estimated 4.5 lakh employees of the Bharat Sanchar Nigam and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited will strike work on Thursday seeking to focus attention on their demand that include opposition of foreign direct investment and granting Navaratna status and autonomy to BSNL according to D.Nagamaniam, secretary of BSNL Employees' Union, Hyderabad Telecom District.
