Four more MPs gets into the Union Ministry
Hyderabad, January 29, 2006With Prime Minister Manmohan Singh deciding to expand his cabinet, Andhra Pradesh got a greater share of Cabinet posts. Speaking with the press, the Prime Minister said that Maharastra, Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh \'deserved it\'. With the inclusion of four MPs from Andhra Pradesh, the total strength from the state rose to 10 setting up a new record. The four are MM Pallam Raju, T Subbarami Reddy, Jairam Ramesh and Daggubati Purandareswari. Earlier during the PV Narasimha Rao Government, the state representation was seven.
However, some Senior Congress members were unhappy at ignoring some of the Senior Leaders and giving chance to the juniors. Congress Working Committee member G Venkataswamy felt sad at not even a single MP was given a Cabinet rank during this expansion.
