Orissa Governor takes additional charge
Hyderabad, January 29, 2006Governor of Orissa Rameshwar Thakur took additional charge as the Governor of Andhra Pradesh. A release from Rashtrapati Bhavan stated this. It may be recalled that the Sushil Kumar Shinde submitted his resignation which was accepted. This became necessary as he is inducted to the Union Cabinet as a part of the expansion of the Council of Ministers of the United Progressive Government.
Mr. Rameshwar Thakur took oath administered by High Court Chief Justice G S Singhvi at a ceremony held at Raj Bhawan in Hyderabad. Chief Minister Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, Cabinet Ministers, APCC President K Keshava Rao, Chief Secretary TK Diwan and other officials were present at the ceremony.
