The prestigious Godavari Utsav celebrations were marked a beginning with the Kalasa Yatra. The Yatra is actually a journey in huge procession with the holy Kalasam. The Godavari Utsavams will be four-day programs.

Minister and Godavari Utsav Committee Chairman J Ramamohana Rao, Mayor MS Chakravarti, MLA Rowtu Surya Prakasha Rao and Kudipiudi Chittabbai lead the procession. The Kalasams were carried by 108 Kalki and Vasavi Kanyaka Parameswari devotees.
