Official Languages Commission asks for Telugu in all Departments

Fourth reminder sent to the Departments

Hyderabad, January 21, 2006

The Official Languages Commission has circulated a fourth reminder to all Government departments asking them to use Telugu in all their correspondence and proposals including draft Bills and amendments to existing Acts.

In the reminder, the Commission chairman ABK Prasad regretted that departments have not started using Telugu in spite of earlier reminders. He wondered as to why the head of the departments are hesitating in this respect. During inspections in six districts so far, the Commission found nil implementation of Telugu in offices.
