CM assures to bring about problems of MRPS before the Congress central leadership
Hyderabad, January 20, 2006The Mala Mahanadu called off their proposed protests on Saturday coinciding with the commencement of the Congress plenary. Representatives of the two groups which met the Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy separately expressed satisfaction over the positive response from the Chief Minister. The MRPS leader Manda Krishna Madiga who met the Chief Minister on Friday evening said that he had been given assurance that the Chief Minister would convince the Congress' central leadership as well as the partners of the UPA coalition to hold an all party meeting and see to it that a Bill was passed by the Parliament.
The Chief Minister said that the entire process would be completed before the commencement of the next academic year so that eligible students from Scheduled Caste communities did not lose their opportunity. The Home Minister directed the officials to release the 500 odd activists arrested within one hour after the meeting.
