Rajahmundry - East Godavari, January 19, 2006

The Excise Commissioner BR Meena has said that the State Government will soon notify 1400 vacancies for constable posts in the Excise department. He told to the media after a meeting of Excise department in Sub Collector's Office on Thursday, he said that after regularizing the services of APSP constables, the Government would notify the vacancies. Lady Constables will also be recruited in this time. He said that there were 12000 employees in Excise department all over the State and they had succeeded in controlling ID liquor in most of the districts.

Mr.Meena said that the department had earned Rs.1900 crores of revenue in this financial year by selling authorized liquor through 6500 permit shops and 1500 bars in the States. He said hat the Government has sanctioned 15 new Excise Superintendent Stations in the State and they will be constructed at an expenditure of Rs.6 crores.

Special ID cards for AICC Plenary
All India Congress Committee (AICC) will not allow the delegates to have direct access to the three day 82nd plenary session of the party beginning on January 21. Identity cards, specially designed and made by the Information Technology cell of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) will be equally important for the delegates and media persons to gain entry into the Gachibowli stadium. The ID Cards are foolproof. Each one carries a unique ID number along with a security hologram issued by the Cyberabad Police. The security personnel and others will check the ID Card before permitting the delegates inside.
