Kalachakra festival at Amaravathi ends formally
Guntur, January 17, 2006
The Kalachakra ended formally on Tuesday with Dalai Lama disfiguring the sand mandala and his followers immersing the sacred sand in the river Krishna. The Buddhist leader, Dalai Lama left for Gannavaram airport after hurriedly disturbing the sand mandala and the district officials and politicians along with those from Krishna district gave him a warm send off at the airport.
The town limped back to normalcy slowly with the thousands of Tibetans taking buses and other modes of transport back to Guntur or Vijayawada to reach their destinations in Himachal Pradesh or Karnataka.
