Guntur, January 15, 2006The Government will guarantee employment for a minimum of 100 days in 13 districts of the State from February 2, according to the Union Minister of State for Rural Development Raghuvansh Prasad Singh. The Employment Guarantee Scheme had become an Act now and through this,, money equivalent of daily wages lost would be paid to those below poverty line if the Government fails to provide job for 100 days, he said a a press conference on Sunday.
He said that the Government was trying to provide flood and drought proofing of rural areas by providing drinking water supply to all villages. As part of that, Rs.1500 crore project would be launched in Guntur district to provide drinking water to some fluoride affected villages.
