Awards presented to 25 farmers and 16 representatives of Government Departments
Hyderabad, January 15, 2006
The Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy launched on Sunday the Agricultural Technology Mission (ATM) and said that it will explore way and means to a give a boost to the productivity levels with the assistance of this mission to the farmers. This mission was launched in response to the call given by the Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh to usher in a second green revolution.
The Chief Minister gave away awards to 25 farmers and 16 representatives of Government Departments as well as the Agriculture University for their On Field Performance. Agricultural Minister, N.Raghuveera Reddy said the measures initiated by the Government had significantly brought down the number of suicide and increased confidence levels among the farming community.
