Farmer Community needs to be rescued
Hyderabad, January 12, 2006The Agricultural Minister N.Raghuveera Reddy asked the IT Companies to come to the rescue of the farming community which lacked market intelligence and merge IT and agriculture sectors. At an e-governance seminar on Health Farm IT on Thursday, he said it was time crop planning was taken seriously and stressed the need that concepts development in laboratories needed to be transplanted onto the farm as early as possible it could be.
In a pre recorded video broadcast, Raj Reddy from Carnegie Mellon University, USA said that establishing broadband was the most important issue and went on explaining how technology could be used for tele medicine. He expressed concerned at the very high mortality rate in the State as compared with Tamil Nadu and Kerala. He stressed the need for communication to spread the message about health care adding the need for the effective communication-Connectivity, Capacity building, Computer Access and Content.
