The State Government has entered into a MoU with 16 hardware and software companies envisaging an investment of Rs.657 crores and providing employment to about 34,000 graduates. The Chief Minister, YS Rajasekhara Reddy formally handed over copies of the MoU for allotment of 76 acres of lad in Hyderabad and 17 acres of land in Visakhapatnam to the companies at the inaugural of the 5th edition of GITEX India 2006, the mega ICT event on Wednesday. Eight companies with investment plans of Rs.586 crore will set up ventures in Hyderabad and seven will open their facilities in Visakhapatnam investing Rs.55.2 crore.
Hyderabad, January 11, 2006The Chief Minister said that the Government was planning to create eight economic zones exclusively to cater to the needs of the IT companies including hardware and software and ITES. The Chief Minister gave away awards for IT companies in various categories like IT, ITeS and hardware exporters. The Minister for Information and Technology and Mines Sabita Indra Reddy, HYSEA president Kedarnath Udiyavar and Dubai World Trade Council general manager Christina Anthony spoke on the occasion.
