Factory worker inhales poisonous gas leaked from reactor
Hyderabad, February 9, 2006A worker of Sree Chemicals at Jeedimetla died reportedly after inhaling poisonous gases that leaked following an explosion in the reactor late on Wednesday night.
The victim, B.Shankar Reddy from Khammam was on night shift when the mishap took place. Jeedimetla Inspector B.Srinivasa Reddy said the value of a reactor's pipe came off due to sudden increase in pressure and exploded. The factory management announced Rs.3.5 lakhs compensation to the bereaved family. Officials of the Factories Department visited the site.
