Thousands begin to visit the forest region
Warangal, February 6, 2006With thousands of devotees already trekking into the forest to take part in the Sammakka Saralakka jatara, the remote Medaram village in Tadwai mandal is already wearing a festive look. Though the jatara is officially meant to begin on February 18, devotes are already coming in.
Though the deities would only be brought from the forests during the jatara to be kept at the gaddelu, pilgrims are already offering their prayers. The APSRTC too has enhanced the number of services to the village. It is learnt that the Chief Minister will visit Medaram on February 12 to inspect the arrangements and to offer prayers at the gaddelu. The police have already launched a massive security in view of the Maoists' threat.
