Left parties vow to stall uranium project

Uranium project could cause pollution in Pulivendula

Cuddapah, February 4, 2006

Left party leaders on Saturday maintained that the uranium project proposed in Pulivendula constituency would cause atmospheric and water pollution and cause more harm to local people than benefit them.

A delegation of CPI and CPI(M) leaders toured Bhoomayagaripalle and Mabbuchintalapalle villages on Saturday and mobilize public opinion against the project sponsored by the Central and State Governments. They threatened to launch a mass movement if the Government does not give up the move.
