Hyderabad, February 3, 2006

Doordarshan Kendra, Hyderabad has bagged the Commonwealth Broadcasting Association Annual award in the category of 'developing issues'. The award sponsored by the World Bank. Emani Krishna Rao, special correspondent, Doordarshan, produced the feature that won the award.

The feature was about how women groups of Dean Development Society, representing the poor in the Deccan region of the State have brought back large extent of degraded land into cultivation and stringently followed the principles of crop diversity.
