Slogans against MIM raised
Hyderabad, February 25, 2006Tension prevailed the sensitive Tappachabutra area on Saturday following alleged desecration of the Darbar Maisama temple. Noses of two lion statues were found broken leading anguish and distress among the locals. The word spread like a wild fire resulting large numbers coming triggering rumors of communal flare up. The police had to resort to mild lathicharge twice to disperse the mobs. It was noticed when the temple was opened in the wee hours, the temple chairman Amar Singh alerted the police.
The angry devotees gathered at the temple and raised slogans against MIM. The BJP leader Bandaru Dattatreya rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the devotees. As the crowds kept swelling, Rapid Action Force were summoned and police deployed 30 pickets in Tappachabutra and Kulsumpura police station limits.
