Governor presents award to YSR

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy was presented the Eashwari Bai Memorial Award 2006 by Governor Rameshwar Thakur on Friday in recognition of his contribution to the uplift the needy. The Eashwari Bai Memorial Trust in 1998 instituted the award in memory of former MLA and Reublican Party of India president J.Eashwari Bai.

Tourism Minister J.Geetha Reddy is daughter of Eashwari Bai. The Governor termed YSR as astute politician who had carved for himself a niche in State politics by his exemplary dedication to improving the lot of the neglected. In his speech, Dr.Reddy said he had learnt to serve the people and promised to take up more programmes to benefit the poor.
