About 500 immediately evacuated
Vijayawada, February 20, 2006
A hoax bomb call created panic on the premises of Kakatiya Public School in Maruthi Nagar. Minutes after an unidentified person called the police control room at 11.15am, about 500 students were evacuated from the campus and were asked to squat on the adjacent playground.
A team of Machavaram police, headed by Sub Inspector and a bomb detection squad carried out intensive checks in the four-storied building before declaring the call a hoax.
