MCH begins with awareness drive
Hyderabad, February 20, 2006
The Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad\'s Health and Sanitation Wing has initiated an awareness campaign targeting chicken retail shops in the twin cities under its jurisdiction on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the surroundings. Additional Commissioner L.Vandan Kumar said that special teams have been going round the 1200 retail shops in the seven circles mainly to caution them about the bird flue disease.
The Corporation may also pick up some samples from different places for analysis as a precautionary measure. Chief Veterinary Officer, P. Venkateswara Reddy said there were no poultry farms within MCH limits and said the farmers and retailers have been asked to not to compromise on sanitation.
