Narasaraopet - Guntur, February 2, 2006Small tension prevailed in the Ipuru Road locality on Thursday following demolition of the boundary wall of a Rama temple by municipal authorities. The locals took objection to the damage of a statue in the temple.
Municipal Commissioner Ramesh issued notice to the temple authorities for removing a portion of the boundary wall. The temple allegedly encroached upon patta land in the neighboring plot. When the municipal workers started pulling down the wall, some one hundred local residents opposed the act and staged a dharna protesting against the dame to the statue in the temple.
