Annual Dance Festival at Hyderabad
Hyderabad, February 13, 2006
The seven day Annual Dance Festival, the 58th Sidhendra Yogi Mahotsav 2006 will start from March 10 at Kuchipudi village in Krishna district. The festival coincides with the annual Kalyanotsavam of Lord Sri Ramalingeswara Swamy and Bala Tripura Sundari in the village. In view of the Global popularity of Kuchipudi dance, this year the Akhila Bharata Kuchipudi Natya Kala Mandali, Kuchipudi and Vempati China Satyam's Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai decided to expand the canvas of the festival to include internationally renowned dancers performing other classical dances.
On the occasion, Patrayani Sangeeta Rao, music director, Kuchipudi Art Gallery will be presented the 'Sri Vedantam Lakshminarayana Sastry Puraskar. The award also carries a cash prize of Rs.50,000.
