Anantapur, February 1, 2006All arrangements for the launching of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme by Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi are in place. Apart from addressing a public meeting, the dignitaries will participate in the gram sabha to be conducted by sarpanch of the village V.Narayana Reddy wherein they will interact with villagers mainly on the employment guarantee scheme.
The dignitaries will then interact with women members of self-help groups from 13 districts in the State that have been selected for implementation of NREGS. They will have a community lunch with the villagers. The entire village and its surrounding have been turned into a security zone with deployment of some 1500 policemen drawn from State and Central forces besides Special Protection Group. The SPG officials led by DIG SK Pande, 4 SPs, two Additional SPs and 15 others and Intelligence Bureau officials led by its DIG Srinivas are supervising the security measures at the venue.
