Chief Minister to seek more funds for the State

Funds to be used for on going projects and development programmes

Speaking to media before leaving to New Delhi to participate in the NDC meeting, the Chief Minster, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy said he would seek additional funds for the ongoing projects and other developmental programmes in the State. He said he would press the Central Government to release funds for strengthening the bunds of Godavari, Vamsadara and Nagavali rivers besides modernization of drains in Krishna and Godavari deltas.

He said that he would utilize the opportunity to highlight the development that the State has achieved during the last two and half years of rule. Apart from participating the National Development Council meeting, he will attend another meeting on atrocities on SCs and STs. He said four courts started functioning last year and another five are being opened for trial of SC, ST cases during the current year. By the end of next year, each district will have a special court to deal with such cases.
