Aims to develop schools in slum areas
Hyderabad, December 4, 2006
In the presence of the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the Hyderabad District Collector RV Chandravardan and Lions Club District Governor C. Lalitha Kameswari signed an MoU to provide quality education to 101 government schools located in the slums of the twin cities.
Under private public partnership initiative, Rs. 25 crores will be spent for development of infrastructure in the adopted government schools. Of the total cost of the year programme, Rs. 5 crores will be borne by the Lions Club. Under this programme all the schools will be provided with the basic infrastructure, furniture , drinking water, toilets and other amenities would be created and all the schools would be provided union form design of name board according to MoU.
