Barely a day after Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy said that the Congress was prepared to go it alone in the next elections, APCC President D Srinivas, on his part, came up with a statement that the door of the party are always open to all opposition parties except the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Bharateeya Janatha Party (BJP).

Hyderabad, December 28, 2006

The Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president K. Keshava Rao expressed displeasure over the statements made by Congress MLAs P. Janardhana Reddy and M. Sashidahar Reddy on Pothireddypadu head regulator issue. Speaking to media persons on Thursday, he said that it as not appropriate on the part of MLAs to air views on an issue, which was supported by the majority.

He however, said that the MLAs view that an expert committee, comprising representatives of three regions and headed by a person from other State could be considered. He said that there had been discussions on Pothireddypadu had regulator within the party and there was no opposition to use of flood water. The only concern was over use of assured water.
