TANA Meet in Hyderabad from December 29 2006

Speaker, CM to participate in the meet

A two-day meet of Telugu language Association of North America (TANA) will conduct meet on December 29 for two days. Assembly Speaker, K. Suresh Reddy will inaugurate the meet that will discuss the future of Telugu language. The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy will also participate in the event on December 30, 2006.

According to TANA India programme coordinator C. Uday Kumar said that the Chief Minister will give away the Gidugu Ramamurthy award, carrying a cash prize of Rs. 50,000 to linguist C. Dharma Rao and also prizes will be given to the State level winners. Telugu writers, poets, cultural organizations, cine actors and others will participate in a rally demanding the ancient language status for Telugu. Former Chief Minister, N. Chandra Babu Naidu will participate in the valedictory.
