Hyderabad, December 26, 2006
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leaders on Tuesday charged that the Minister for Major Irrigation Ponnala Lakshmaiah and his relatives were in illegal possession of 19 acres land worth Rs. 14 crores.
They demanded a thorough survey of such lands and their distribution to the eligible poor and action should be initiated against those who grabbed government lands and purchased assigned lands. In response to the Chief Minister’s appeal to reveal the particulars of illegal lands, the TDP leaders sent a letter to him giving details of alleged land grab by the minister.
