Hyderabad, December 21, 2006

The Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Monetk Singh Ahluwalia has told the Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy that a gas regulatory authority will be established keeping in view of the large interests of the poor consumes.

The Chief Minister spoke to the Prime Minister and Dr. Ahluwalia on Thursday seeking the regulatory authority in the light of a meting of the Energy Coordination Committee in New Delhi. The Chief Minister said that the authority would facilitate optimum utilization of gas reserves and help in preventing power tariff hikes.
