Hyderabad, December 20, 2006Grandhi Madhavi’s sensational killing of Congress leader and former MLA is not the handiwork of professional killers. She was murdered on Tuesday night at her residence on Road No. 39, Jubilee Hills. The police suspect the role of the servant maid and cousin of deceased MLA’s cousin and manager, Venkatapati Raju. The injury on the body of servant maid Devi seems to be self inflicted.
Investigating officers of the Police department are not ruling out the possibility of Raju’s involvement in the case. The domestic help’s mobile phone which was recovered from the scene of the offence on Wednesday morning revealed that he called up Devi from his mobile for four times between 7.00 to 7.30pm and there were gaps in the version of Raju who claimed to have reached the house at 9pm.
Forensic experts, who combed the scene of the offence and house, recovered some loose hair and a pair of slippers. There were also footprints in the kitchen. This led them to conjecture that Devi might have assisted the assailants in committing the offence.
