Suspended MLAs march to Raj Bhavan
Hyderabad, December 19, 2006
The Opposition MLAs (except CPI and MIM) led by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Opposition leader N. Chandrababu Naidu resolving to fight out the issue of Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy on lands took out a procession from Assembly to Raj Bhavan. They were earlier suspended for stalling the proceedings of the House, the Speaker has no option except to suspend them from the House by the Speaker KR Suresh Reddy to facilitate conduct of the Question Hour proceedings.
As the MLAs belonging to TDP, TRS, CPM and BJP walking all the way to Raj Bhavan from Assembly, traffic came to a grinding halt. As the Governor Rameshwar Thakur was not in Raj Bhavan, the four Opposition parties’ MLAs had handed over separate memorandum to the Governor’s secretary MG Gopal. In the memorandum, the TDP said that the Chief Minister and his family members who are guilty of violating various sections of laws should be prosecuted. TDP president speaking to media said that they would fight it out legally and politically besides taking the issue to the public.
