Victim's son alleged that TDP leaders harassed family members
Hyderabad, December 17, 2006
It may be recalled that a farmer M. Balaswamy who consumed pesticide in front of C Block in the Secretariat on December 8 died in Osmania General Hospital on Sunday. The victim hails from Chandrakal in Pedda Kottaplli mandal in Mahabubnagar district attempted to commit suicide as he failed to meet the Chief Minister.
The victim’s son Rameswara Rao alleged that the TDP leader for his father’s suicide. He alleged that their family was harassed by local TDP activists and their house was looted sever times during 1994-2004. He said that he committed suicide in protest against the inordinate delay in taking action against the accused. He even alleged that the complaints lodged with the police but they took no action. He demanded an immediate suspension of police officers who did not take action on his father’s complaints.
