Oracle eyes communication and broadband sectors
To broaden its services profile

In India, communication, mobile TV and broadband are the sectors that have tremendous potential and have attracted the attention of software major Oracle. These sectors would now be an important part of the company's areas in the country. It is believed that Oracle has already started negotiations for development of software for various companies in these areas as disclosed by Senior Vice President and General Manager of Oracle's Communications Global Business Unit Bhaskar Gorti.
He said that Oracle's Service Delivery Platform creates platform for design, development and management of services that lie at the heart of IT and network coverage. The services Oracle provides include simple messaging, rich multimedia and next generation services. Oracle recently has made a final bid of US $1.3 billion to banking software firm i-flex solutions to increase its current stake holding of 41 percent to 91 percent.
