Poor to get assigned lands
Hyderabad, December 15, 2006The Chief Minister, Dr. YS Rajasekhara Reddy appealed his party men to come forward voluntarily disclosure of their land holdings and hand over illegal ones, if any to the Government. He said that as apprehended by some political parties, the lands will go to the poor and not to the business houses.
He brushed away the criticism of Opposition that he had violated law and said that land transactions of his father YS Raja Reddy either for his company of for the family were based on the registered documents. After verification of records proved that his family members were in possession of 310 acres of land illegally though registrations were done on the basis of registered documents.
He further said that the Government had no intention to harass anyone in this regard and it only effort was to take back the assigned lands. He attributed the failure of land reforms to loopholes in the law, he directed the Revenue officials to take appropriate remedial steps.
