Hyderabad, August 8, 2006

Chief Minister, Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy reviewed the progress of irrigation projects with the top officials on Tuesday. He asked them to fill up the vacancies in man power required for land acquisition at the earliest.

In respect of resettlement and rehabilitation, the Chief Minister asked the officials to deal the matter with utmost care as the matter is a sensitive issue and involved common man.

He said that the issues of relief and rehabilitation to be addressed in a systematic manner. Project Administrators needed to be appointed and the affected villages noticed besides carrying out a socio-economic survey. As regards to Pulichintala project, he asked the Chief Engineer and Collectors of Nalgonda and Guntur to reconcile the statistics and sort out any issues pending with the Commissioner of Endowments.
