Chief Minister agrees to pay medical bills of ex-MLAs

732 former MLAs bills pending

Hyderabad, August 29, 2006

The Chief Minister Dr YS Rajasekhara Reddy on Tuesday agreed to clear the entire 732 former legislator's pending medical bills in 63 referral hospitals including the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) after discussing with officials.

In response to the felicitations by AP Former Legislators Association, the Chief Minister said that like the sitting legislators, the ex-MLAs need not pay any advance to undergo treatment in these hospitals. He assured to consider their plea to provide free travel in APSRTC buses like in other States.

During the meeting, the ex-MLAs decided to donate Rs.1000/- per head to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund towards ongoing relief works in the flood affected areas in the State.
